The Shubra Al-Khaima prosecution renewed on Sunday the detention of rights lawyer Malek Adly and three others for 15 days over the charge of inciting anti-government protests among others charges.

Adly sent a letter from prison to his wife Asmaa Aly in which he said the news he receives gives him hope. The letter also expressed gratitude to everyone who is still fighting for the Red Sea islands case.

“Despite the inhumane conditions, my soul is still the same,” Adly said, adding that he is satisfied with the price he has to pay and demanding that the Egyptian territories and the Red Sea islands case continues to be defended.

Adly was arrested earlier in May and faces charges of attempting to topple the regime, amending the constitution of the state, joining an entity that works against the government, and spreading false news pertaining to the maritime demarcation deal between Egypt and Saudi Arabia over the Red Sea islands.

Lawyer Sayed El-Banna and two other detainees, Sayed Gaber and Ahmed Salem, join Malek in the same case where they face the aforementioned charges.
